Paddington
This project transforms a largely intact 1880’s terrace house in Paddington, Sydney into a contemporary home for modern living.
Lost historic elements to the street-facing façade have been reinstated as a gesture and contribution to the heritage conservation area of Paddington.
A new extension on the ground level to the rear of the dwelling creates one contiguous indoor / outdoor space that supports day to day family life as well as entertaining.
On the upper levels, new extensions to the rear of the dwelling have enabled a reorganisation of the layout as well as providing additional accommodation / amenities.
These private areas offer moments of retreat and separation as required to support the needs of a multi-generational household.
Throughout this home, the neutral colour palette, natural materials and tactile elements all create a sense of warmth, calm and a sanctuary away from the busyness of modern life.
